Hi, I’m Marisa Bellovin!
As an Educational Specialist, I take pride in providing a warm and nurturing learning environment for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. My personalized tutoring sessions are carefully crafted to address the unique needs of each student. Whether focusing on reading, writing, mathematics, or overcoming specific learning challenges, children work towards achieving specifics goals developed at the start of our time together. I believe in fostering a holistic approach to learning. From addressing attention and executive function challenges to supporting students with cognitive and emotional issues related to learning, my goal is to empower students to achieve academic success and personal growth. Additionally, I offer stimulating enrichment opportunities for students seeking to expand their knowledge and skills.
With over a decade of experience in education and in the classroom, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my tutoring practice. I hold certifications in Orton Gillingham reading remediation programs and have completed training in Preventing Academic Failure and The Hochman Writing Method. My educational background includes a Masters Degree in Childhood Education from Hunter College and a Bachelors of Science in Communication from Boston University.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching at renowned independent schools in Boston and New York City, including The Meadowbrook School of Weston, Beit Rabban Day School, Brooklyn Friends School, and The Windward School. My passion for education and dedication to student success drives my work every day.
